Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do at Taunton School. We are fully committed to ensuring that every student is protected, supported, and able to take part in a safe, positive, and welcoming environment. Our approach to safeguarding follows recognised Child Protection standards and places the welfare of all young people within our virtual school community as our highest priority.
All safeguarding concerns or incidents are reported directly to our dedicated Safeguarding Team through MyConcern, our secure reporting and case-management system. This allows every concern to be recorded confidentially, reviewed promptly, and managed with the utmost care and professionalism.
Once a report is received, the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) takes responsibility for coordinating and overseeing the full response. The DSL ensures that appropriate action is taken, risks are assessed thoroughly, and any necessary support or intervention is put in place. Where required, the DSL may work closely with senior staff or external safeguarding organisations to ensure concerns are handled responsibly and effectively.
We treat all safeguarding and Child Protection matters with the utmost seriousness. Our procedures are designed to identify concerns early, respond swiftly, and ensure that every student feels safe, respected, and listened to at all times.
If you have a safeguarding concern or would like further information about our safeguarding practices, please contact us through the appropriate reporting channels or email our team for guidance and support.
